Health Insurance Requirement
Effective fall 2007, all new, full-time, main campus graduate students carrying at least nine (9) graduate credit hours are required to show proof of adequate health insurance or enroll in the University sponsored plan. Online students are exempt from this requirement.
Health Insurance Subsidy for Graduate Assistants and Fellows
The last day to request a health insurance subsidy refund for insurance purchased for the 2007-2008 academic year is March 31, 2008. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
To help graduate assistants and fellows with the new health insurance requirement, a subsidy will be available towards the purchase of the university sponsored health insurance plan. Enrollment will be available on an annual or a semester basis: annual subsidy $500, semester subsidy $167. At the time of enrollment for health insurance, the subsidy will be applied towards the cost of the insurance. Early enrollment is encouraged as funds are limited and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.
