New Graduate Student Orientation
   

We encourage all new graduate students to attend the university-wide New Graduate Student Orientation, Graduate Student Workshops, and Graduate Student Services Fair August 19, 2008.

Students should check with their departments/programs for the date(s) and time(s) of their departmental/program orientation sessions before registering for one of the university-wide Orientation sessions and for one or more of the workshops conducted in conjunction with New Graduate Student Orientation.

Student Services Fair

1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
breezeway of the New Classroom Building (next to Bellamy and behind the Student Union)

To assist our new graduate students, student organizations and campus offices will host informational tables. The Congress of Graduate Students will provide refreshments.

New Graduate Student Orientation Sessions

Orientation will include what to expect academically and financially as graduate students; the professional ethics associated with graduate research and creative endeavors; and FSU's academic and social opportunities and services available to graduate students.

To accommodate the large number of new graduate students the FSU Office of Graduate Studies will conduct two sessions:
12:00 -12:50 p.m. and
1:15 – 2:05 p.m.
New Classroom Building (HCB), Room 101

Register for the 1:15 – 2:05 p.m. Orientation

New Graduate Student Workshops

Four workshops designed for new graduate students will be conducted in the New Classroom Building (HCB).

As you plan for the week of August 18-22, check with your department/program to see if you should also register for the fall training workshop for teaching assistants, or PIE Conference, August 20 & 21, 2008, from 9:00 - 5:00 p.m
